FIVC, INTERNATIONAL VIDEODANCE FESTIVAL OF CHILE
International Videodance Festival of Chile, FIVC, was held from 7 to 10 January in the Plaza Mulato Gil de Castro and dependencies MAVI ,Visual Arts Museum in Santiago, and from 14 to Jan. 17 at CENTEX Culture Council of Chile
In Santiago there were two national directors conference, while at night the video dance took the Plaza Mulato Gil for display FIVC official welcome with the public and passersby who were attracted by the sample.
In Valparaiso the activities were extended to two workshops for regional artists and students came from both the city of Valparaiso.
The workshops were “fixed camera body in motion” by the national artist Francisca Tironi developed in two sessions totaling six hours chronological and the workshop “to Videodance Introduction” by the national artist and director of Brisa FIVC MP in a total of 8 hours chronological
There were two alternative conference and exhibition “Open Screen” which displayed works of “Dance Film” national and Latin American collections, and sample of students.
We also carried out the performance “The Interpreter” with live performance by Sergio Valenzuela and Eyal Meyer.For its part, the “Official Sample” presented fifty works from Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina, Mexico, Cuba, Peru, Sweden, Egypt, UK, Korea, Israel, Australia, and Chile showing an overview of the production videodance around the world, from different angles discursive, aesthetic and technical, which brought a lot of people.
The FIVC 2009 was the collaboration of different festivals Videodance as “Danca em Foco” (Brazil), “FEDAME” (Mexico), “SHOOT” (Sweden) and the “Festival of Videodance of Havana” (Cuba). Also enjoyed the patronage of MAVI Museum of Visual Arts, Dance Area National Council for Culture and Arts Network Videodance VDCH Chile and MERCOSUR Videodance Circuit. The Extension Center sponsored by the National Council for Culture and Arts of Chile.
Videodance Festival of Chile 2009 is the result of several previous projects of independent broadcasting exhibits copyright, collective and compilations developed since 2002 by organizing this festival in Santiago and Barcelona under self-management resources and independent funding.
